Stranded on an island! Build a mini raft to carry cargo across water using just your materials and brainpower. Ages 7–12.

You’re stranded on an island — can your raft carry the cargo to safety? In this hands-on STEM challenge, participants ages 7–12 will use limited materials and critical thinking to build a mini raft that can float and transport a small load across water. Along the way, they’ll learn basic engineering principles like buoyancy, balance, and design. An engineering-themed book display will be available to inspire further exploration into the world of building and invention.
