For Valentine’s Day, explore screen-free coding and crafting by making a binary code heart! This activity is self-guided and will be available all day. Intended for ages 6-12.

Each letter of the alphabet has a unique binary code made up of the digits 1 and 0, and you'll use that to spell out short Valentine-themed words with pipe cleaners and beads in different colors. Then, turn your creation into a heart!

You'll go home with a better understanding of binary code (the foundation of all technology), and a cool craft keepsake!
